Cod (Gadus morhua) from Polar Seafood is caught, processed and frozen onboard our trawler "Polar Princess" immediately after catch ensuring excellent freshness and firm meat. Polar Princess is recognised as one of the best vessels in the art of processing frozen at sea fish fillets. The name of “Polar Princess”  is instantly recognised as a processor of consistently high quality and, like the rest of the Polar Seafood fleet, this trawler operates a strict HACCP control procedure on board through a dedicated long established crew. Our FAS fish is distributed across many countries for customers whom simply require the best quality fish there is to purchase.

Sizes and grades
The Polar Princess is able to offer both Cod and also Haddock fillets in numerous size grades  from 6-8 oz up to 32+oz fillets and presentation options with Skin on/Skin off, Pin Bone in/ Pin Bone out. All finished fillets are packed in a 6.81 kg (15lb) shatter pack interleafed sleeve for easy separation as required. Three sleeves are then placed in a outer case.


Habitat
Cods lives from the coastline down to 5-600 m depths. The Cod from Polar Seafood is either fished in the Barents Sea or of the East Coast of Greenland.

The meat is characterized by being white and juicy and relatively low in fat. This fish has a mild flavor as most people enjoy and is amenable to a large number of cooking presentations.
