Scallop (placopecten magellanicus) is a soft animal, which can be described as a giant sphincter surrounded by a shell jacket. Scallops are found in most oceans at depths up to 150 meters. They are often partly buried in coarse sand bottom, usually in areas with more power. The feeds themselves by filtering plankton out of the water.

Habitat
Polar Seafoods scallops come from the United States and Canada (FAO fishing areas 21).
 
The shell is removed, the muscle is cleaned and frozen in order to maintain a good mild flavor. Scallops is a delicious seafood low in fat, but nevertheless have a high ratio of omega - 3 fatty acids.
